The Edelrid Bud is your simple go-to figure of 8 style descender. Awesome for canyoning or just general abseiling, it will work a treat on ropes between 7.8mm and 12mm. The Edelrid Bud is also great to keep in your kit as a cheaper spare device for backup or when you take some friends. If your French and old-school you could also use it as a belay device.
